Project 10 Pan has commenced.
What does this mean?
It means that I am not able to purchase any cosmetics until I have used up/hit pan on at least 10 items in my current collection.
It can be a foundation, lipstick, lipgloss, blusher, eyeshadow or eyeliner...anything like that...but I have to have completely used it up for it to count.
Once I have used up 10 I can then purchase something.
I have threatened to do this before - I think back when I met Kelly and Gemma for IMATS. But I avoided doing it. Now my makeup collection has reached gargantuan proportions and there is no longer room to put anything which in turn, makes it ridiculous to buy anything.
We will see but I am excited about this - mainly because it means I will have more money for the summer and the two holidays I am planning.
I am already at 1 product - my MAC Studio Fix Fluid has run out and so I have moved on to using up my Revlon Colorstay foundation in Early Tan which is a fantastic dupe.
So the big question is...who is with me ?! :)
Lets make Project 10 Pan take over! :)

hahaha i could do this with you! i have extreme storage problems because i still live in a dorm! i looooove seeing pictures of used up things, so we should take pictures!

Yes please. The real proof of if a product is good is if you use it, so...why not? I know you're keen on blush and lippie but I've got about a bagillion mascaras that all do the same thing, yet I still keep buying more because I'm "bored."

You can do it! Use the fact that you can use the money you save on buying make-up at whatever exotic place you're vacationing at as motivation!
I 'budget' well atm so I am free to continue with my purchasing lol! I am in the process of building up my collection and once I am there I will be more than happy to join you :D Good luck with yours though :) xx

How weird..ive just been thinking along the lines of NO MORE FREAKIN MAKE UP.
I have spent four hours trying to re-organize my Make Up stash cos it doesnt fit anywhere anymore! I seriously have a big big problem so you can count me in!

wow Laura good on you for doing this :) I said in some earlier posts that I'm not buying any makeup until something has ran out.. im not sure if i can wait until 10 :) I have some mac gift vouchers so will be getting some stuff 2mro.. so that doesnt count right? its not my money! So with you on this. I'm using products that are still good but haven't been used in a long while. I pull those item(s) and work these into my everyday routine. I just took pics of "older" products I've been using the last two weeks for my blog. I'm waiting for that satisfying feeling of hitting pan:)

I would love to do this challenge. It's such a great idea =) But 10 products! gosh.. that's going to take me at least a year. And I'll be missing out on so many LE items!

funny coz i just got into a recent obsession with make-up! i just bought a new mini pull-out drawer set to place everything in.
i will sure miss your haul videos!if i wanted something from a new collection from MAC i was sure to see you (and the other gurus) with the goodies! watching you with oodles of stuff made me feel like i bought them too and it gives me strength to wait for the next collection and see if i can hold off in purchasing then!! lol

i would...but i tend to use up things i have ...LOL and with my menial collection i got going...i have the opposite problem...if something doesn't work i either return it or swap it...but it'll be fun to watch you and everyone else do it :)

I am totally with you on this one.
I need to save money and this is the perfect plan - it makes sense and has the right project feel.
Also, I might very well discover items in my collection that I had completely forgotten about - so I might get something new, in a way, after all :-)
I will do the Project 10 Pan so that I don't have to buy anymore MAC until the 10 items are completely gone. This is a good idea since I buy too much MAC anyways lol

I am ashamed of the quantity of products I have used only once or twice!
In fact, I have been doing this effort more or less woth skin care products. I am not allowed to buy any moisturizer, toner or cleanser until I finish the whole lot!

I really like this idea.... My collection is not ridiculously big but i should start using up everything i have... SO I'M IN!
I have started to kind of do this..I don't have a huge collection as such but there are make up pieces I want which I know when I buy I'll coninue pushing the oldies further back..so I am making myself use up the old stuff first then start afresh!
I would love to have the willpower to do this but im addicted to buying make up :( maybe I'll manage project 5 pan! Definitely will try after rose romance!

Hopefully an exception to this will be your trip to Japan? This is a good idea, I think I'll stop buying until the huge Sephora store opens at my college store.

And so that we won't be missing you on you tube - an idea for new videos: All the good stuff that you discover in your collection and why you bought it in the first place, has it been worth the money, how does it compare to other stuff etc. :-)
I will be getting to that point soon, but not ready yet... I am very excited about the Rose Collection and Warriors Collections coming up from MAC. However i will be on a budget for the Rose Collection. But i will keep this idea in mind :) Good luck!

I love this challenge as it gives me the best feeling ever to finish a product, but 10 is not an easy number. Still, thanks for pushing us! I'll try! Picture evidence is a very good idea. i would start - that sounds like a good idea - i have tickets to the makeup show and i know that after paying for the ticket to the show, now i HAVE to buy something - but I MUSTTT join project 10 pan soon
im with u girl. i dont have an enormous collection but i have more than i need and feel bad cuz it feels like im wasting money cuz ive got so much makeup thats not being used...u can only wear so much at one time!
